The Nuts & Bolts

Sometimes you just need the practical details.

Here you’ll find information about where I practice, insurance, fees, telehealth, and some of the other practical details about working with me.

Providing Therapy for adults navigating
anxiety, depression, grief, relationships,
life transitions, and trauma healing –telehealth in Montana, Connecticut,
Florida, Idaho, New Mexico, and Vermont.

Where can I work with you?

I provide telehealth therapy to clients who are physically located in Montana, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, New Mexico, and Vermont at the time of the session.

Do you take insurance, and how does that work?

I currently accept select insurance plans, including:

  • Aetna
  • UnitedHealthcare (UHC)
  • Oscar
  • Optum
  • UMR
  • GEHA
  • Allegiance
  • Cigna (at this time, Montana clients only)

Insurance acceptance may change; please inquire directly if you do not see yours listed.

Insurance participation and benefits can vary by state and by individual plan. Please contact me with your insurance carrier and state of residence, and I can help determine whether I am able to accept your insurance.

Your Choice Matters

If I do not participate with your insurance plan, you may still be able to use out-of-network benefits to help cover the cost of therapy. Many insurance plans offer reimbursement for services provided by an out-of-network therapist, although benefits vary considerably by plan. We can discuss this further.

If you are considering using out-of-network benefits, I recommend contacting your insurance company and asking:

  1. What are my mental health benefits?
  2. What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
  3. How many therapy sessions does my plan cover?
  4. How much does my insurance pay for an out-of-network provider?
  5. Is approval required from my primary care physician?

What if I’m paying for therapy myself?

I accept private-pay clients and offer a generous sliding scale when needed.

I don’t want finances alone to prevent someone from accessing therapy, so if cost is a concern, please feel free to ask about available sliding-scale options.

How does telehealth work?

Sessions are held online using a HIPAA-compliant version of Zoom,
with the option of video or audio-only sessions.

You can join from a computer, tablet, or phone from a private location where you feel comfortable talking. Before your first session, you’ll receive the information you need to connect.

Ready to connect?

1
Reach out

If you’ve made it through the nuts and bolts and think we might be a good fit, send me a message through the contact form or contact me directly by phone or email (below).

And if you still have questions before deciding whether you’d like to move forward, that’s okay. You can include those in your message, too.

2
A free 15-minute call

I’ll typically respond by email so we can connect and arrange a free 15-minute phone consultation. The consultation gives us a chance to talk briefly about what you’re looking for, answer any questions you may have, and see whether working together might make sense.

3
Your first session

If we decide to move forward, we’ll find a time that works for both of us, and I’ll send you the paperwork you’ll need to complete beforehand.
